2024
december: it's official! my MOSAIC K99 application is awarded. can't wait to transition my work from examining how hormones shape auditory processing during reproduction to how they shape auditory circuits during metamorphosis in frogs.

october: check out some of the press featuring the "small side project" that surged during our Grass fellowship summer at the MBL (NPR) (Science Mag) (Defector) (NYTimes)

september: traveled to the National Institute for Basic Biology (NIBB) in Japan to continue a collaboration with Dr. Kei Jokura examining ctenophore sensory systems.
july: traveled to the International Congress for Neuroethology (ICN) in Berlin to present work examining how acoustic feedback changes the patterning of male vocalizations in a treefrog species.
march: new paper published! glucorcorticoid receptors in the forebrain of female treefrogs play a role in the degree of behavioral choosiness during mate choice.

2023
end of may - september: Grass Fellowship at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL). conducted independent research on treefrog auditory processing and developed new research avenues on marine invertebrate behavior. stay tuned for our "side project" findings on ctenophore fusion!
january: traveled to SICB to present our work characterizing the dynamic variability in call patterning in a grossly understudied South American treefrog species

2022
may: the third chapter of my dissertation is out. check out our findings on how neural activity during learning varies depending on the social context

2021
april: my NSF PRFB application was funded! excited to go from fish to frogs to study the mechanisms of auditory processing in the Hoke lab!
